Since TMG is no longer available for purchase we are also covering RootsMagic which has a free version available and portability of your data. This SIG utilizes a Q&A format. You bring the questions and we can usually provide the answers. Are you having trouble with your TMG program on your laptop? Bring it with you. We have plenty of room to setup your computer and checkout your problem.

      When you go thought the entrance doors take a right at the front desk then a left onto the elevator. Go to 2nd floor and exit the elevator  to the left room 252 is 2nd room on the left.

    We will not be having a coffee pot available so you will need to bring your own covered coffee...!!!!

    Fix-It SIG

    The SIG focuses on trying to solve KIPCUG members' hardware/software issues with a best effort by a KIPCUG member.

     

    The meeting will start with a short (15 minutes) Question and Answer time.  Meeting then will move to a time of helping KIPCUG members solve hardware/software issues they are having.

     

    If no issue/problem needs to be fixed, then Q & A can continue.

     

    Please read the Note below concerning hardware issues.

    Meetings are at 6:30 PM on the 3rd Monday at CCUM at 4614 Brownsboro Road (US 42 & Blankenbaker Lane), in Room 251 or 252, upstairs. This is a new location for this SIG due to the major renovation at the Eline Library.

    The SIG focuses on various versions of MS Windows software, its features, methods of operation, and problems along with hints and tips. This SIG is for users who are comfortable with the daily use of their computer, have mastered their fear of computers, and are willing to push the envelope a little.

    Genealogy SIG

    The Genealogy SIG has presentations on the use of The Master Genealogist software. TMG is a full-featured database that can help you research, organize and publish your family history. Since TMG is no longer available for purchase we are also covering RootsMagic which has a free version available and portability of your data. Each session has a short Q&A. For examples of reports, check www.genealogy-family.com. Interactive census forms are also available on this site.

    Meets 3:30 PM on the 2nd Monday at the LFPL-Jeffersontown Branch Library, 10635 Watterson Trail. This is a temporary location.

    Apple SIG

    The SIG focuses on Apple hardware/software.  Jim has experience with a iMAC desktop, iPad 3, iPhone 5S  hardware. He has some experience with Apple software.

    We start with a topic suggested by members who attend the SIG, as well as a Question and Answer session.

    Fix-It SIG

    The SIG focuses on trying to solve KIPCUG members' hardware/software issues with a best effort by a KIPCUG member.

     

    The meeting will start with a short (15 minutes) Question and Answer time.  Meeting then will move to a time of helping KIPCUG members solve hardware/software issues they are having.

     

    If no issue/problem needs to be fixed, then Q & A can continue.

     

    Please read the Note below concerning hardware issues.

    Meetings are at 6:30 PM on the 3rd Monday at CCUM at 4614 Brownsboro Road (US 42 & Blankenbaker Lane), in Room 251 or 252, upstairs. This is a new location for this SIG due to the major renovation at the Eline Library.

    Note:

    1. Please contact Jim 3 days prior to the meeting with your issue so he can do some research before the meeting.
    2. Make sure you bring Operating System discs... any key codes... etc. and any software disc needed.
    3. We will not use Operating system or software discs not owned by you to fix your issue (except Spinrite which I own and can use legally).

    You need to bring your complete system, monitor, keyboard, mouse, cables and processor, unless instructed differently. Members with repair experience are encouraged to drop in and help.
